A YouTube video contains much more public information than its title and view count. Depending on what YouTube makes available for a video, creators can review the channel, publication date, description, tags, category, duration, definition, caption indicator and public engagement statistics from one structured report.

The YouTube Tool Hub Video Analyzer uses the official YouTube Data API to retrieve available public video resource data. It organizes that information into a clean creator-focused dashboard and calculates a few simple ratios from the reported public statistics.

Instead of inventing an opaque “SEO score,” the analyzer keeps every calculated metric transparent. You can see exactly what each ratio means and use it as one small part of your wider research workflow.

How to Analyze a YouTube Video

1

Paste the video URL

Use a public YouTube watch URL, youtu.be link, Shorts URL, live URL, embed URL or raw 11-character video ID.

2

Run the analyzer

Click Analyze Video and YouTube Tool Hub requests the available public video data.

3

Review the report

Inspect the video's statistics, metadata, tags, description, thumbnail, IDs and calculated public ratios.

4

Copy or export

Copy important IDs or the description, open the original video, or export the report as JSON or CSV.

Understanding the Video Analyzer Metrics

The three percentage metrics shown by this tool are direct mathematical comparisons based on the public statistics returned by YouTube. They are not hidden YouTube ranking factors and should not be treated as predictions.

Like-to-view ratio

This is calculated as reported likes divided by reported views × 100. It can help you compare the visible relationship between likes and views across public videos, but different audiences, topics and video ages can produce very different values.

Comment-to-view ratio

This is calculated as reported comments divided by reported views × 100. It can be useful when comparing how much public discussion a video generated relative to its reported view count.

Public interaction rate

This tool adds reported likes and comments together, divides that total by reported views, and converts the result to a percentage. It is simply a convenience metric for research—not a substitute for private YouTube Studio analytics.

Important: These ratios do not include watch time, audience retention, impressions, click-through rate, shares, saves, subscribers gained, revenue or other private YouTube Studio metrics.

Useful Ways Creators Can Use Video Analysis

Audit your own uploads

After publishing or updating a video, you can quickly check whether its public title, description, tags, thumbnail and other metadata appear as expected.

Organize competitor and niche research

Study public patterns across successful videos in your niche, such as title structure, description length, publishing dates, visible engagement and tag usage. Use patterns for learning rather than copying another creator's creative work.

Prepare creator reports

CSV and JSON exports make it easier to preserve a snapshot of the public data returned for a video and combine it with your own notes or research process.

Speed up technical workflows

Copy Video IDs and Channel IDs directly when working with APIs, spreadsheets, creator-management systems or other YouTube Tool Hub utilities.

Compare public engagement patterns

The transparent ratios can help you manually compare public interaction patterns between videos. For a meaningful comparison, consider topic, age of the video, audience size and format rather than reading one percentage in isolation.

What This Analyzer Cannot See

This tool only works with the public video fields available through the configured YouTube Data API. It cannot access another creator's private YouTube Studio analytics, watch-time data, audience retention, impression click-through rate, revenue, demographic information or unpublished performance data.

Some public fields can also be absent. For example, a video may return no tags, comments may be unavailable, or certain counters may not be exposed in the way you expect. The analyzer reports the data it receives rather than fabricating missing values.

YouTube can also change API fields, availability and platform behavior over time. Use this tool as a practical research utility and verify critical decisions against your own YouTube Studio data when analyzing your own channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the YouTube Video Analyzer use the official YouTube API?

Yes. It requests available public video resource data using the YouTube Data API configured for YouTube Tool Hub.

Does this tool show a YouTube SEO score?

No. YouTube Tool Hub avoids presenting an invented score as if it represented YouTube's ranking algorithm. The displayed ratios are transparent calculations from public data.

Why are tags missing for some videos?

Tags are not guaranteed to be present in every returned video resource. If YouTube does not return tags, the analyzer shows that no tags were available.

Can this analyzer work with YouTube Shorts?

Yes. Supported public Shorts URLs can be analyzed when the underlying video resource is available through the YouTube Data API.

Why might likes or comments differ from what I expect?

The analyzer displays values returned by the API at the time of the request. Availability and counters can vary by video and platform settings.

Can I analyze private YouTube Studio metrics?

No. Public analysis does not provide another creator's private Studio metrics such as retention, watch time, impressions or revenue.

Can I export the analysis?

Yes. The current version supports JSON and CSV report exports.
